History
Cincinnati Works is a nationally renowned program that provides job
readiness and career advancement counseling for people with unstable work
histories and people desiring to move beyond their entry-level employment.
Cincinnati Works has a 70% one-year job retention rate for those they work
with (members).
In order to raise this percentage, OneCity is partnering with churches and
volunteers to encourage long-term job retention through relational support
and small group networking.
OneCity began partnering with Cincinnati Works in 2005. The pilot program –
TeamWorks – was developed to provide mentors to people interested in having
more personal interaction, support and discussion regarding their career.
OneCity is currently in the process of developing best practices to increase
the impact of the TeamWorks program and is currently looking to expand the
base of mentors by instituting TeamWorks opportunities at area churches.
