StepUp - How Does It Work?
StepUp is a mentoring program assisting residents at Hamilton County
correctional facilities in making a positive transition into their
community. Mentors begin building relationships with residents three months
prior to their release. After residents are released, mentors continue to
provide personal support and encouragement, resources and assistance with
reaching personal goals. The mentoring program hopes to reduce the rate of
return to River City or a similar prison facility and equip former residents
with tools and resources to transition effectively into the community. |
